If I search for the apps on my phone i can launch them but i can not download anothe launcher form the market place due to not having one installed.
What can i do to get back to factory? I am about to try the unbrick fix her at xda [How To] Return to Stock / Fix Bricked Epic - xda-developers

You can do that to return to stock...one question though what happens when you click the Home key? ad what happens if you long press the home key?
Also, where did you get that Launcher was ok to remove?..in the wiki it says Launcher is NOT ok to remove:

TWLauncher is ok to remove if you got already another launcher installed and as default..but Launcher should not be removed.
If Home or Long press Home does not help then yes you'll have to reload to stock based on that method
