hard reset / restore

So it turns out that I removed a bunch of Sprint Bloatware and didn't back them up properly, so now the DI07 update will not install. I have tried reinstalling the apk's (most of which I found on xda) but it still aborts as soon as it does the system check. I think I need to do a hard reset, run the update and then re-root. But how can I do this and then get my phone back to how it is now? It took me a week to get all the home pages set up the way I want. I really don't want to go through all that again. Is there a way to backup my home screens and then restore them later?
