From a cold start it takes about 13 seconds for the GPS to get a lock with at least 5+ sats. After the cold start i can close google maps and when i reopen it the GPS is synced by the time the App loads.

Thanks m00nd0g, good data point. Even though you've got aGPS off, could you compare that part of your registry to those above & note any differences? Thanks.
