Sounds like an error on the side of the rom. I thought that if you dissabled the lock screen the default htc lock screen still worked for answering calls and things like that.

Either way as is now I only see two options. Remove the lock screen, or download an alarm app from the market and just use that. The other option is to just wait for someone else to come along with a fix, I mean I am sure there is a fix to this for whatever rom you are using. You might want to mention what rom you are on so they know what they are dealing with.
