It's not like Android isn't without its share of problems either, I'm still waiting to hear that the Epic is able get through a full day on a single battery charge, there definitely seems to be a trade off between open/close platform and battery life...

There a too many variables to even attempt to predict what's going to happen in 2014. If Microsoft is 99% less restrictive then Apple is, M$ could overtake them, making them the direct competition with Android.
