You could try the threaded app extracted from the Treo 750, it is kinda tricky to install on WM5, and we cannot post it here at Palm's request. However, a Google search will directo you it.

You could also try Vito's SMS-Chat, however, it is entirely touch screen and would defy the purpose on a device with a square screen and a keyboard.

There are other options that never really made a big impact, but a search will help you find different threads discussing all these apps.
