like you said i didnt do the cab install so all my folders for Xandroid are just on my root.. but Android doesnt find them in the \Media folder for some reason.. the Andboot thing was just a test, never moved anything but the media files there.. which has all been removed and moved back to root..

my folder heirarchy is this: \media(on root)>audio and resources> audio has 3 sub folders: ringers, alarms, notifications> resources is just full of image files(now if i move images here, they DO show when i view the resource library[so its even stranger that the audio isnt being found also])..

I pretty much have the standard startup.txt file(see below).. if i need to add a relay still for some reason(because i know i shouldnt have to) does it matter where in the order of things it goes? and since Im not using an andboot folder to keep it clean, what would it need to be i guess?? i feel like an idiot given my experience and not being able to figure this out LOL.. probbaly why Im not in a hurry to go Android fulltime on an Android only device lmao..

set RAMSIZE 0x6000000
set RAMADDR 0x10000000
set mtype 2292
set KERNEL zImage
set initrd initrd.gz
#pwf dm.txt 0x8e0000 0x20000
set cmdline "msmvkeyb_toggle=off gsensor_axis=2,1,3 lcd.density=240 htc_hw.force_cdma=1 physkeyboard=rhod400"
boot
I can't seem to replicate your problem, I have used a new sd card just for this, but it is finding all my media fine, what format are the files that you are trying to load?

Is that the exact startup text that you use?
If it is, it is very outdated, try updating it to the one I have posted, I removed the overclock and set it up for a sprint Tp2 for you.

Otherwise I think you may just have to redo your android installation, android was built to automatically recognize the media/ringtones folder and therefore not put then in your music app, do your ringtones show up as music?
