I guess it all depends on the person. If you called/attemped to contact a company about a product they still sell but, don't offer support, don't buy it.

I have been tempted in the past to "pirate" software due to the lack of support (just simple questions, that is not answered on their site, via e-mail never get replies, even after 3-4 attempts) but, I just gave up.

If a company gives up support, they should drop the price down to almost nothing or give it away for free/open source (it should be a law). GPS software is a little different, as even TomTom gives the software away but, you pay for the maps, they don't have to really support the software. The maps work across different devices.

Talk about a way to get screwed...
