The rep transfered me to retention and without any hesitation or rebuddle...I will have the new Airvana (3G) sometime next week. I was told the retention department is the only department right now that has the device. You will not be able to go into a store and purchase one as of yet, probably early 2011 or later this year. Basically you have to return your old Airave and activate your new one when you recieve it. I'm hoping this fixes the connection issues with the Evo. I guess it's something to do with HTC's software on the phone.

I got my Evo the day they came out and had an original Airave since it was released and had no problems with it. That said, I called the other day and got them to send me an Airvana which arrived today and also has no connection issues with the Evo. I have been having a lot of intermittent text issues since it got provisioned an hour ago (I get no texts and then I get a bunch all at once 20-30min after they were sent, then it's fine for a bit and then same problem again, during that time I also get errors sending texts.) Only other issue is you cannot set the Airvana to private and add numbers on the website right now. It says it saved but when you check again it's back to public. Multiple Airave support people told me that it's a known issue their engineers have been working on for over 2 weeks.
And now after calling Airave support about the text message problem (again) I spoke to a supervisor who said this is also a known issue with this model, they offered to put me back on my original one. Going to wait and see if it keeps happening.
