I am use to having the left key notification soft button when i get a text. When Sense is enabled, this doesn't happen. How do I re-enable this with Sense?

I am using nrg ROM 21911 Cookie version, and perhaps it is a ROM issue, but I noticed when I disable Sense i get that feature back.
