1st Great job getting the sound working! love it
I think this has to do with not releasing the speaker properly, My phone while in standby mode, the LED don't turn green anymore to indicate it is in low power standby, battery use show android system using most of the battery and standby at less than 1% and is draining the battery rather quickly as a result
