The screen goes blank and I hit the power button to turn it back on and the phone then just does a soft reset. It only occurs just as the Keyboard slides back into place. It has been happening all of a sudden lately during heavy texting and the ROM has not changed. I think its a hardware related. Pretty strange though for it to just start doing that.

Anyone else had this problem or seen reports of it. This is the ONLY issue I have had with my now roughly 1 year old TP2. I suspect Sprint's TP2 is now approaching End of Life and inventory will be drying up in terms of getting a TEP replacement for free.
Next time u slide keyboard back into place, try doing it gently as possible. try not to slam it shut. if the screen does not go blank when u do this, then its the battery being dislodged when u slide the keyboard back into place with too much force. mine did the same thing. fyi, the screen isn't going blank. phone actually loses power and shuts down. pressing power simply turns it on. simple fix, open up battery cover, place a small piece of paper folded in half on top of battery, replace cover. u may need to play around with placement of paper. i did this about a month ago. phone has not shut down since. good luck. hope this helps.
