Re: Droid Incredible TV-Out being used as a CARPC

Still trying to resolve the issues with HTC on Video that I mentioned in the second post. Here is the latest from HTC:

We did notice some issues using the TV out option and have submitted
these to corporate. Thanks for bringing these to our attention!

>> OK - been playing with this and pinned down the problem. First it does occur in both LCD external monitors. It seems when you get a call or make one, the circuit that turns the screen off when you hold it to your ear is the cause. Where the unit is located in the vehicle in relation to the armrest my hand hovers an inch or two above the HTC screen. That is what is causing the video to blink on and off repeatedly and after awhile locks up the phone. When I tried it last night with the other monitor it was out of the car and I never came close to the screen of the HTC. I confirmed tonight that the problem is duplicated on either screen out of the car if your hand gets within and inch or so of the screen. The solution would be to disable that circuit when the video cable is in because there would never be a need for it. It is highly likely that in and auto or other close situation you could cover the HTC screen and cause it. I will put this out on the forums tonight and see if other people get the same results. They will. There should also be a way as an option to make just the HTC screen go black until you touch it and bring it alive. That would be a lot less distracting then two screens with the same thing on them. Also as I told you the aspect is off no matter what settings or combination of settings you try in both monitors.
