While I think the advancements and efforts are awesome, I would not be so quick to say we will be running 'Froyo'.
My understanding of this hack allows inserting changes into the system partition at boot time, but not a full replacement of the Kernel. So you get some of Froyo code on an Eclair kernel.
It may be better than what we have, but it isn't likely yet to be a full froyo release.
Once we get the 'official' Froyo update from Moto, and combine it with some of these techniques, I think you will see some better options.
