No, some small companies try to get away with it but it can be a huge problem in the end. Chances are Verizon wouldn't know or care enough to go through the mess but Sprint cannot take that risk. It just isn't worth it. If they block it 1/100th of the customers using it might switch but if VZW sues then 100% have to be deactivated. Not really a good idea to risk it.
