Are you running SetCPU? On both devices? If you are, try uninstalling it. Reboot and check your phone again. try texting, kb stuff, etc.. Test out everything that wasn't working for ya... Like I posted before. SetCPU is not working very well for me, i had to uninstall it. My Evo"Nator" has been running AWESOME since the uninstall..
PS: If you are running SetCPU, you mentioned stock ROM. Well, within SetCPU you need to click on the "Disable Perflock" and wait a few seconds. Have you done that. Before I keep going with more stuff. Let us know if you are running SetCPU.
SetCPU is not FROYO friendly YET.....
