Re: Alltel Help here

LukeB777,

I will define a few things here for you to start off with.

First, always search by multiple word combination and add a " * " before any 3 letter word or less. Second, since I too own a Alltel PPC-6800 and currently have a rom/radio combination which enables GPS/Rev. A I will assist with getting you off into the right direction.

To begin the upgrading procedure, you will need to complete (6) tasks , some which are easily obtainable within PPCGeeks or XDA:

1. Read THOROUGHLY QuantunForce1's thread on upgrading & ImCokeMan's thread unlocking.
2. Download a RUU (folder with files necessary for flashing)
3. Acquire radio 3.27.00
4. Download Dcd's 2.2.6 (located at XDA) or no2chem's build 5049 (which I run and located here)
5. Download a program called HARD-SPL-MFG.exe
6. Backup everything that you hold dear to you on your device.

Once you have obtained/completed these assignments and are 101% sure of competence, we can now begin...

Note~~ There is a "proper" sequential order of installing radio & rom. Please confirm on the latest method of order.

1. Make sure our device is connected to your PC through Activesync.
2. Install HARD-SPL-MFG.exe onto your PC and run. Follow the on-screen directions EXACTLY and disconnect your device only ONCE as instructed throughout the process!
3. Once you have the tri-colored screen and you see "RUUNHB" in the top right corner, run the RUU within the RUU folder. MAKE SURE that the only .nbh file in this folder asides from the other RUU files is the .nbh of the rom you want to flash!
4. After the rom (or radio) has installed, repeat steps 1 - 3 for the radio (or rom). Your unit will self-power down and you will ready to no install your preferred apps & settings...
