Nandroid backup is great. you have your device running how you want, and then if you have quick boot, you can launch into recovery, or you can do valume down and power to reach recovery, or rom manager will let you do backup of your nand before any updates installed. even if you get bootloop trying to do something a simple pull of batt, volume down and power, and selecting recovery works wonders. simply select nandroid/recovery/and select recent date and poof, back to where you started. nandroid is the best, period.
