Only you can know if it's worth a shot or not. I didnt try the data.img since it's 2.1 to 2.2. So far all my apps except Wireless tether work.

Wireless tether does not appear to work.
Stock USB tethering does not either-could be the build, could be it wont be working till Tuesday. PDAnet does work.
I'm running barcode scanner from the SD
EDIT:There are rumors floating around that you cant go back to 2.1 after going to 2.2.....
I just restored my nand of OMJ 1.9
Now back to Froyo I go....
