this is why i stopped working for bestbuy a long time ago. i was in the BBM department, and they always try to find ways to jack your money. but on a brighter note, i actually got my phone through bestbuy and it was quick and easy process. so i'm sorry that you unfortunately got the shit end of the stick, but DEFINITELY talk to district/corp. people, and they should be able to provide a solution. there is no reason why your issue can't be solved because you are within the 30 day period.
