I may have been born at night, but it wasn't last night. On WM, using SPB Backup on the first device, I could click Full Backup (Step 1). When that finished, transfer that file to a brand new identical device (Step 2), and click on that file (Step 3). The file SPB Backup had made was a self-extracting executible that made an exact duplicate of the 1st phone, including every setting, including ringer choices, alarm sound, whatever (even where the alarm was set at). Every single program was installed, and every setting within every program was identical. Every page, background, every single characteristic, was identical.
You didn't need SPB Backup installed first on the new device, nothing. It included itself in the self-extracting executible file. Since it was a paid piece of software, it installed itself as trial mode, which was full featured, but limited to number of days or number of uses. Any other paid software brought over would likely also go into trial mode once launched, but no big deal, there was very little software that wasn't free.
You wouldn't even know it was a different phone. How could anything possibly be easier than that, much less more comprehensive in every little detail? We aren't talking PIM Backup here......
