I've read a bunch on the app killer apps as well as talked to some Linux people and the consensus is that it is not needed unless you like the functionality of killing specific apps. The bottom line is this:
1) Linux already has a very efficient task manager. It will kill the apps if needed.
2) Killing apps could have an adverse effect on some os tasks
3) Let the Linux os take care of closing apps. It will free up memory on its own if needed.
With all that said, I still have the app killer running on this ROM because I'm too lazy to remove it.
