My point though was that the user who suggested that Sprint isn't actively trying to force people off SERO is mistaken. They're absolutely trying to do that, and if Asurian can no longer provide a phone that is equivalent in specs to the TP2 and SERO compatible (which basically would be the TP2 itself), that will mean that people can't always do what you suggest. Phones break and get lost/stolen, and if the insurance program won't replace it with something that doesn't require a plan change or is a step backwards than what we had, that's just one more hurdle for anyone who is actually willing to stay with the TP2 forever in the name of SERO. With Asurian not carrying it anymore, and with a discontinuation of the TP2 inevitable at some point (probably before the year is out), eBay's going to be the only choice.

So the question is... how long as SERO been unavailable for new customers? Probably longer than the TP2 has existed. They've continued to grandfather in phones, but sooner or later and end must come!
Live with it, don't break your phone, and figure out the budget for the extra $30 when the time comes!
