No, actually, I'm willing to accept that SERO will come to an end, though obviously I'd rather it doesn't. I'm not upgrade eligible until September, so I'll wait the extra month to see if the Oct 1 rumors discussed elsewhere come true. But if they don't, I'll give it up in order to get what I want.
My point though was that the user who suggested that Sprint isn't actively trying to force people off SERO is mistaken. They're absolutely trying to do that, and if Asurian can no longer provide a phone that is equivalent in specs to the TP2 and SERO compatible (which basically would be the TP2 itself), that will mean that people can't always do what you suggest. Phones break and get lost/stolen, and if the insurance program won't replace it with something that doesn't require a plan change or is a step backwards than what we had, that's just one more hurdle for anyone who is actually willing to stay with the TP2 forever in the name of SERO. With Asurian not carrying it anymore, and with a discontinuation of the TP2 inevitable at some point (probably before the year is out), eBay's going to be the only choice.
