Search for a program called "UITweaker," you can fully customize the look of your phone.
So much that you'll mess up a hundred times before you get it right, in which case you just change themes again and you will be back to normal.
You can also crop any picture you find on the web to a 320x240 resolution and use it as the background image. It's very easy and little risk
