I'm a bit confused here as to what exactly this does. Does this do a similar root as the original one click where all of the apps, games & config of the phone stay put or do I need to reinstall everything/ setup? Does it rewrite the rom to slipstream it in?

I am OTA'ed unfortunately and lost my root like everyone else. I'm a bit uncomfortable with the other root methods. Sorry n00b.
