Not a stupid question at all. 2016 is the "latest" version of Sense 2.5 that has been found on the HTC HD2 with, one could assume, some fixes and improvements over the 2012 version. I have found it to be very stable and quick, but the most obvious difference is the 12 fully utilizable quick links found on the home tab. I'm still using it straight away on one of my phones, but will probably put the new version of MaxSense on top of it once that arrives. I suspect you will see more chefs migrate to it also, sooner or later.
