Re: All EVO Roms (Updated 7/7) 21 Roms and Counting!!!

let me jump on my soap box for a minute...sorry OP...

if you're worried about an update that your carrier wants to push to you...you may not want to be looking into a custom ROM.

if the update is worth a damn and IMPROVES the O/S...most chefs will quickly cook them into an update to THEIR ROM. In some cases, the stock carrier update may actually affect functionality (negatively) OR take away some previously enabled functions.

Look at the initial OTA update to the EVO...or the WinMo 6.5 update they pushed to the Touch Pro 2 (Sleep of Death anyone?)

My point is that most of these ROMs are little works of art...that in some way shape or form BETTER than what the carrier (Sprint) or the manufacturer (HTC) is willing to give us...so if you are in the market of flashing a custom ROM...you probably should just blow the update off...and see what the chefs are offering.

No, Froyo is not 100% on our EVOs yet...but its functional, stable, fast, battery friendly(for me) most stock phones won't see that update until HTC and Sprint finishes with THEIR additions and subtractions...and generally f**king up a perfectly good O/S
