I would all but guarentee this would only lead to bigger issues.

However, you may want to look into some of that liguid crap that is used to remove scratches from glasses (though I don't know how well it would work on a touchscreen).

Also if all else fails, you can replace the touchscreen (granted only if the scratches are really that big of a deal to you).
