I searched around xda in that thread and I see a few people in there had the same issue. One of them may have been you. But, it looks like it may be a hardware problem as stated in this thread over at xda...

Those guys over there are very responsive and might be able to help you out more than me. I dont know why you are getting that error. Good luck with it. Also, yeah you havent flashed the recovery yet as that is in step 10. Seems to me that if you did flash a sprint ruu that is would take you back to the beginning but, Im not for sure.
