Why did they not choose to include the WiMax update? and if I go through these steps, will I lose my existing (flaky) Wimax?

I would really want the new Wimax update, but, I don't want to lose Root either.

What is the suggested means to get the new WiMax update, and still have Root? I can read and follow directions well enough, but I have not seen the best solution appear to me to make sense yet.

Thanks in advance, and sorry to post yet another OTA question thread, but I have not seen this posted anywhere.
I think they removed the wimax because it was breaking 4g as i understood things. they've been quite quiet lately too since their first unrevoked-otav1 broke alot of 4g's with no fix in sight.

the suggested means to get the new wimax is to do the root the real way(toasts method) and get a rom that has the ota cooked in.

currently i'm still under unrevoked1 and unrevoked2. luckily i errored out when i tried getting the unrevoked-OTAv2.
