Car chargers never do put out as much as a home charger...
But it is probably defective if it's coming out.
Just return it, and look on line for a high output car charger, just beware i've heard some horror stories about aftermarket chargers... otherwise carry an extra battery, I used to with my Diamond. Which I haven't had to do with this phone...
