I would have just used a crap phone to switch it to, use it a couple days and switch it back to the one you bought online then add insurance if that didn't work. And one thing insurance is good for if your device is EOL or out of stock then they upgrade you for free. Happened to me with the Mogul to the Pro then the Pro to the Pro 2. To me its worth the extra cash to shell out instead of buying from ebay.
