Umm.. I have the froyo 2.2 beta build of XDAndroid installed on my phone and my wife's.. (TP2's).. and I believe you're mistaken

The battery workaround is baked in, but it's still not 100% and I also don't believe they have power management working yet either.
It's more than just sound that's not functional yet. There are a couple devs working on sound ATM based on the chat logs from the irc channel. There are other devs working on other portions that aren't functional yet as well.
All I can say is that the devs are hard core
I'm very thankful for the work that they're doing
They still have a long way to go in order to get Camera, BT, power management and Opengl working but they're working on it.
