If your phone has not had the update applied, then yes. This process will work.
When you say "receiving" on the 5th, do you me by mail?
If so, there is a very good possibility that no OTA has been applied.
The phone was built/packaged long before the OTA came out. No one has had their hands on it to ruin it yet.
As soon as you turn it on and go through the setup of your accounts, you'll get a message that says there is an update available. Regardless of what that update is,
SAY NO, then you'll be good to go.
