I haven't found a way to remove sprint cs from the number 2 slot but I have found a nice alternative for speed dialing...
Quick Dial It let's you assign contacts & apps to 36 available slots. I made it so that when I press phone the quick dial app pops up as default. I added the phone link to the first page of available slots in Quick Dial. The only con with my setup is if I have to dial a number I have one extra step to take. I also assign the people search and voice search to a slot as well.
