I have a feeling we could fix it with a symlink. I suspect the core system is looking for an empty mountpoint, and the file managers are simply browsing 'traditional' folders.

e.g. android : /sdcard

what is actually mounted in a (relatively) traditional nix system: /media/sdcard

I also noticed when running mount from the terminal, that the sdcard is mounted as a block device, but doesn't seem to have a corresponding file pointer (as listed above). There is however a TON of mounts so I may just be missing it.
