I have searched several sites but this is the tutorial i used to check my bootrom: http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-che...iboot-version/

From that tutorial i found this on my iPhone 3GS: USB\VID_05AC&PID_1227\CPID:8920_CPRV:14_CPFM:03_SC EP:01_BDID:00_ECID:000003825A16BD4E_SRTG:[IBOOT-359.3]

so accordingly i have the old bootrom.

I used the snowbreeze method but like i said i was getting the error codes off itunes when attempting to restore the custom made firmware from snowbreeze.

From what i understand PwnageTool is Mac only and i do not have access to a Mac computer so I would not be able to go that method unfortunately. Right now i am just sitting back and waiting I am not in a huge rush but would love to be able to unlock this device before i leave this country.

Thank you very much for all your help!!
yeah i was actually mid putting up a how-to that uses that same method of the link you put up.

I don't understand what you're running into with the sn0wbreeze jailbreak.

Try it again, lol, it should work with the old bootrom.

remember, it is virtually impossible to brick an iPhone, if anything goes wrong just do a restore.
