So calling and driving around today, I realize now that I can't go through BB or RS to get my rebate taken care of automatically. And the Sprint store says I need to keep the phone on the one line for 30 days to get my rebate.
But darn it, I'm not letting my 11 year old kid have my new Evo for a month! (But I also want my rebate.) Sorry to pull this forum off topic. Here is some EVO talk. I played with one at Best Buy today, and it is a beautiful BEAUTIFUL device.

If we are talking about the Sprint Mail-in Rebate send out the rebate form with a receipt attached like normal. If your rebate is declined you will receive a postcard explaining that your rebate was declined with a phone number that you can call. Call that number, follow the prompts to get to CS agent and explain what happened.
Technically speaking you have voided your MIR if you device swap before 30 days. Talking with an CS agent can help get your MIR approved. It is by no means a 100% guarantee but it is the best chance you will have at getting your MIR.
