I have no problem setting up A2DP to my car, the thing is that I don't want to have to manually connect my phone every time I get out of the car.

Try a profile app... They auto detect location and conditions to automatically change wifi, BT, etc settings... I haven't used one but have see them in the market and elsewhere...
