Re: HTC EVO on Sprint Employee Account ?

I had SERO

I had the $30.00 a month 500 minutes plan and the $50.00 a month 1250 minutes plan.
It was time for us to get my son a phone... so I basically walked into the store, (after getting my phone off of reserve)...
It took a very long time, I was standing there for like 40 minutes.. and get this, this was at a corporate store... MIND YOU, I called Sprint, 3x times, before the launch date, 3 months out, to ask if I could get the EVO 4G. Each time, they said yes, but I would have to change my plan to one of the FAMILY SERO-like plans...
Which is basically what I did.

$109 a month for:

- 1600 AT\AW minutes
- Unlimited Data and Texting
-3x Phones ($9.99 a month for the 3rd phone)
-Free nights and weekends starting at 6pm and ending at 6am
-Unlimited calling between any mobile phone network...

So. now I pay about $128.00 a month.... (with taxes and what not, probably close to $150.00) as opposed to $97.00 a month after taxes fees, and insurance...

When I got to the Corporate store, the lady didn't know how to do ANYTHING. So she called "HER" manager, he said they don't deal with SERO accounts, so she went ahead and called HER Sprint Help line...they could not help her... either...
So I called *2 on my cell phone which of course got me striaght through to employee sales.
I spoke my mantra that I would repeat 2 more times after transfers "I have a SERO account, I was told that in order to get the SERO, I could purchase one at a SPRINT CORPORATE STORE, or online through TELESALES, but only after I UPGRADED my account to a Family SERO-like plan ($109 versus $129.00, 1600 minutes versus 1500 minutes).

The third lady, explained that they would need to bill the plan, initially as a regular EVerything plus plan ($69.99 + $10.00 for EVO charge) as a new line, and then they would move that line, plust my current 2 lines to the family plan.

They did this... and instead of paying for the phone, I had it billed to my account, and then I swapped the phone numbers, and Sprint issued me a $100.00 credit to replace the rebate I would not be able to get, because I swapped numbers.

A lot of hastle...but I just priced out a similar plan, and with ATT, and the same options and 1x iphone, It would cost me $181.00 and that is before taxes... and fees...
