I was continually refused the ability to switch my current account to a SERO one. So I just signed up for an entirely new SERO account, dropped my existing account to the $10/month basic plan, then ported my number over.
Getting my old number ported to the SERO was the tough part. After many failed attempts I got a retentions rep on the line who non-chalantly said: "Let me get my supervisor to override this", and in no time, i had the number ported.
