Quite a few questions you need to answer. Are you on EVDO? How is the signal? What is the bitrate of the movie? How fast is your connection? Is TCPMP set on Raw Framebuffer?
It sounds as if your data connection cannot keep up. If that is the case, then there is little that can be done except turn on wifi and use that.
