Even if you dont rename it and DO go into hboot/bootloader/recovery loader and the file gets read we have a failsafe since it asks us if we want to continue the update. Just hit No if you have accidentally left the file on your card without renaming it.
I know since I did it.
I knew better but when I saw the zip being read I freaked.
Of course I just hit No to the 'continue update' question once it got there.
No harm, no foul.
Ultimately you're right, best to rename it or move it into a folder to prevent heart attacks.
