Re: The Verizon Rom Experiment - 6.1 with sense2.5

I too have been poking at ROMs, and here's something interesting.

Caulkin's will boot a Verizon phone just fine, but any ROM using Psyki's Kitchen epic fails.

I once tried to make a Superleggera version of 6.5, stripped to the bones. It was actually quite impressive, with 46-60% memory usage at idle with the Titanium today screen. This is almost on par with the Just Works ROM by popps...

Now, I wouldn't mind running WM 6.1, but there are two nagging issues that keep pulling me back to the world of 6.5...

1: Landscape Mode Graphics Acceleration - This is Nonexixstant in 6.1. Does anyone know if it is possible to get it work?

How to tell: Open Opera 10, go to a webpage, scroll in Portrait to get a feel for the super speed of scrolling, then rotate the screen to Landscape (either by hotkey or slide open) and try scrolling. Notice major difference in drawing speed.

This also affects the Youtube player often bundled with many ROMs. While it will play perfectly fine in 6.5 (which has not this problem), it sputters and jutters and frame kills on 6.1.

2: Bringing up the Virtual Keyboard is troublesome at best. It seems to refuse to open the first time, preferring to repeat an action you just did, such as type a letter, press a button, or touch a part of the screen.

If any of you know the way to fix these, if fixable, it would be great help to use Superleggera ROM makers.
