I have experienced something like this. If you leave the screen turned off and the phone in sleep, you can come back 12 hours later and Sense will still not have loaded. This happens sometimes when I run cleanRAM, since I have it restart Sense. I do not know why this is. Sometimes Sense starts up in a few seconds even though most of the time it takes around 30, but then there are the rare times that it just takes forever. The trick to speed it up is to make sure the screen doesn't turn off. If it does, the phone kind of gives up trying to load Sense at all.
