Re: Every rom I flash...

it seems all phones are different.

I don't flash three times a week like some posters (I don't really see the point in that), but I have flashed quite a bit when I was looking for a ROM to use everyday.

After trying probably 15 ROMs in a row, I settled on the Dec 18th NRG DUSK ROM as everything worked perfectly back then & I ran it until just a few weeks back when VZ changed something & my MMS stopped working. At that point, I flashed the newest NRG 2.5 ROM (23569) & everything works fine again.

I have flashed hundreds of ROMs all the way back to the xv 6700 days & I have never done anything other than just flash the new ROM over the old one. If I have time, I might do a clear storage once after the flash but I don't even do that some of the time.

I'm not sure why it's different for me, but I have never once had the kind of problems that posters recommend doing the "flash dance' (whatever that it) to correct. My SMS/MMS always work just fine on the first try (as long as I input the correct servers etc). My current system runs very smooth & fast 7 hasn't frozen up once.

I am an IT Admin & I build/tweak/maintenance/troubleshoot etc. both MAC & Windows machines all day at work, so things like a BIOS flash, OS reinstall, Ghosting a hard drive, Virus removable etc. etc. are second nature to me & I'm sure that helps a lot.

I guess my point is, there is no way you should have to go through the silly things i see people posting where they are hard resetting, task29, clear storage etc.etc.etc. to ridiculous extents where they seem almost obsessed with it.

99% of the time, doing nothing but a reflash & maybe one clear storage after that just to be safe is all you need........
