Re: Touch pro 2 usb defect thread

I would like to vote YES on this issue. I had the same issue with my touch pro. Even a hard reset did not fixed the problem. Just recently, my touch pro 2, has been having the same issue. After extensive search and advice, nothing works. I have seen many posts regarding this issue. At first, I thought it might be only related to windows mobile devices. But I started to see posts about HTC Hero running Android as well. What is baffling though is how some fixes work on some devices and others don't. And then there are a number of percentage that nothing works.

Here are some of these so called fixes:
1. ICS: pc connection>your carrier>connect>reset
2. uncheck sync: settings>connections>usb to pc>uncheck faster...
3. use OEM usb cables- not mini usb (bought some-no dice)
4. hard reset: this did not worked on my touch pro- and a no go on my tp2
5. clean the usb port with alcohol using q-tips
6. use another usb port on your laptop or pc

I think this is a hardware problem. Just like the keyboard issue with the touch pro- which i had to replace.

I decided to email HTC's customer support. I included in my email, to investigate this matter by doing a little forum reading. I told them that there are many posts about how HTC devices just stop synchronizing with their pc and it is a problem. Victor replied. He said to uncheck the data sync- read #2. The majority of the email was on how to hard reset my phone instead... I attached the email via jpeg.
