That analogy doesn't work even if you drive a prius vs a bugatti veyron, the gas stations don't charge you more per gallon for the same gas. the amount of gas is similar to amount of minutes, the more you use the more you pay, but the rate per minute is still the same, not different. It's more like Hey, here's the car you bought, but you are only allowed to use these set roads to drive on them, sure it can be driven on other ones, but we wont let you.
