Re: Battery Life - Awake Time / Up Time

I was also having battery woes that i noticed about a week after having the phone, but not at first. It being my first android phone i went a little app happy and i thinkk that may have been my issue.

I had all syncing turned off except for gmail, weather (2hrs) and facebook (4hours). I had the unrEVOked root, overclock set to throttle cpu down to 200-300MHz when the screen was off, and had ATK even though i only used it to close sprint apps that kept popping up (not sure this did anything.) i also had about a dozen games and all the cool demo apps: skymaps, goggles, layer, shazam, lastfm, pandora. I also had the gmail application, and the hanset SMS app, so i had two mail applications and two sms applications running at the same time, because i couldn't figure out how to disable mail and messages.

My awake time and mu up time were not 1:1, but with little use durring the work day i was draining about 10% an hour, and my awake:up time was about 5:1.

I did a few selective rounds of purging apps i didnt need, and seeing if my sleep ratio got better when the screen was off, but after about 4 rounds of this and it not getting better i gave up and did a hard reset (clear storage, start over from stock image) This seemed to help dramatically. I only installed a few apps that i really needed: cVolume lite, pandora. I'm now really hesitant to install anything that i don't trust or don't understand what its doing, like unrEVOked.

If your having battery issues, i recomend you do the hard reset method:
phone off
hold vol down and tap the power button
select clear storage
then confirm

You'll need to re-sync your contacts, reinstall your apps, re-orginize your home screen, and re-enter any bookmarks, but it will be worth it.
